Shiatsu (in Japanese shi finger and atsu pressure) is a method recognised in
eastern psychosomatic medicine that aims to detect and eliminate energy imbalances
and to reestablish and maintain the state of health. Pressure is exerted on different
parts of the body including the feet and knees. It is recommended for solving
problems of cervical rigidity, headaches and backaches, and helps improve the
psychophysical state.
The basis of ayurvedic massage is “Abhyangam”, also called the technique of “loving hands” which is performed in a synchronised way. It is an excellent relaxation technique in which the body is massaged with sesame oil according to particular movements that extend with precision in a vertical and circular direction. This massage serves to harmonise the body’s energies, helps flush out the toxins of the metabolism, and encourages the deepest processes of renewal and purification of our bodies.
Chinese Finger Pressure Massage
25 mins/€ 32.00 50 mins/€ 60.00
This ancient method from China is very similar to Acupuncture, but instead of
the needle uses pressure from the fingers, which exercise a micromassage, stimulating
energy along all the meridians. It not only has a positive effect on the energy
system, but as a prophylaxis the treatment also strengthens the immune system
and raises the limit of the daily load.
This has a double function: local and reflex. On the one hand it acts on the
osteoarticular system, relieving local pains and contractions and unblocking the
joints, and on the other it acts on the parasympathtic nervous system, helping
to calm the mind.
Rio Abierto (Open River) Massage®
This is a massage of Argentinian origin imported into Italy by the Rio Abierto
School® in Naples.
During this massage the energy is rebalanced by redistributing it along very precise
energy channels. The hands of the therapist run over the entire body like an intense
and beneficial “river in flood”, which will break down the barriers and obstacles
due to physical and psychic blockages, allowing the vital lymph to restore wellness
and energy.
This is a vigorous, penetrating massage that treats every fibre and muscle fascia
of the body, involving, in line with the principles of eastern culture, the points
along the meridians. It uses stretching exercises and other movements similar
to those of Hatha Yoga.
Vodder Therapeutic Lymph Drainage
Reflexogenic Connective Tissue Massage
The “mother” of this massage, devised in 1929, is the German physiotherapist
Elisabeth Dicke, and our therapist trained in this technique. With this massage,
recommended for every day, the therapist, wioth a tensile stroke, tries to strip
away the build-up on the tissue, thus making it more elastic, with increased blood
circulation, and hence healthier. Besides this direct effect, there is also an
indirect benefit becase the massage has a reflex action on the visceral innervation
and the musculoskeletal apparatus. Hence, reflexogenic connective tissue massage
is particularly recommended for persons suffering from asthma and gastroenteritis,
or urinary, genital or osteoarticular discomfort.
The craniosacral system is the place where body, mind and spirit join on commone ground. The system is characterised by a rhythmical activity that lasts for the whole of one’s life. In the presence of illnesses this rhythm changes, and craniosacral therapy intervenes to set it right. This treatment encourages the natural processes of self-healing and helps solve problems of migraine, trigeminal neuralgia, asthma, depression, stress and generalised pains.

Periods of tiredness or prolonged stress, professional duties, family responsibilities
and the inevitable advance of age make our brains and our bodies assume the defences
necessary to maintain health. That is when we get the first messages of overload:
reduction of our ability to pay attention and concentrate, memory blanks, loss
of balance, failing eyesight and hearing, tenseness in the jaw, uncordinated movements,
irritability, leading to all sorts of medical conditions and articular blockages.
The Brain Gym® comes to our aid precisely at this stage. Developed by the American
kinesiologist Paul Dennison, these “gymnastics for the brain” uses both group
and individual exercises that permit both a “neurological reawakening” and a balancing
of one’s physical being. The coordinated movements proposed stimulate the production
of neurotrophins, improving the interconnections of the nervous system through
a real training process that involves the brain with its thoughts and sensations
and the body with its movements.
To participate in the Brain Gym® means to increase our tolerance to stress, help
our capacity to concentrate and pay attention, learn relaxation to prevent overload
of the senses of sight and hearing, improve our memory quality and regain mental
lucidity.
